In search of plants between dry mead\u00adows and rocks<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

On April 18, 2026, Flo\u00adra Raet\u00adi\u00adca kicked off the new sea\u00adson with an excur\u00adsion in sum\u00admery tem\u00adper\u00ada\u00adtures. It led to Fels\u00adberg, in the mid\u00addle of species-rich dry mead\u00adows and rocky habi\u00adtats. <\/p>\n\n

Led by Markus Bich\u00adsel and Andreas Gygax, the group of around twen\u00adty peo\u00adple searched for typ\u00adi\u00adcal spring flow\u00aders. While four par\u00adtic\u00adi\u00adpants record\u00aded so-called flash squares, the oth\u00aders delved into tricky species groups such as horn\u00adworts(Cerastium)<\/em> and vio\u00adlets(Vio\u00adla)<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n

Botan\u00adi\u00adcal high\u00adlights includ\u00aded the out\u00adflow area of the Gross R\u00fcfi scree slope with gray milk\u00adwort(Leontodon incanus<\/em>), <\/em>low lying heather(Fumana procum\u00adbens<\/em>) and shin\u00ading bed\u00adstraw(Gal\u00adi\u00adum lucidum<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n

Learn, dis\u00adcov\u00ader, exchange<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

In addi\u00adtion to excit\u00ading plant dis\u00adcov\u00ader\u00adies, such excur\u00adsions also offer the oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty to exchange ideas with one anoth\u00ader. Melanie, who works as a social work\u00ader and, like many of the oth\u00ader par\u00adtic\u00adi\u00adpants, enjoys botany as a hob\u00adby, says: \u201cI meet like-mind\u00aded peo\u00adple at the events \u2014 ide\u00adal for get\u00adting tips from each oth\u00ader.\u201d <\/p>\n\n

Rita, a land\u00adscape archi\u00adtect who has been with Flo\u00adra Raet\u00adi\u00adca from the very begin\u00adning, also makes con\u00adscious use of the joint excur\u00adsions to broad\u00aden her hori\u00adzons: \u201cI get to vis\u00adit areas that I would oth\u00ader\u00adwise nev\u00ader go to.\u201d And she adds: \u201cI always learn some\u00adthing new botan\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly too.\u201d<\/p>\n\n

Flo\u00adra Raet\u00adi\u00adca is an inspir\u00ading leisure project for Melanie: \u201cIt\u2019s fun and gives me direc\u00adtion and struc\u00adture for botaniz\u00ading. Or, as Rita puts it in a nut\u00adshell: \u201cA good group with real\u00adly good peo\u00adple \u2014 work\u00ading togeth\u00ader on a won\u00adder\u00adful project.\u201d<\/p>\n\n

The excur\u00adsion was part of the reg\u00adu\u00adlar, free offers from Flo\u00adra Raet\u00adi\u00adca. The next excur\u00adsions and map\u00adping week\u00adends are already wait\u00ading \u2014 and with them many more dis\u00adcov\u00ader\u00adies. <\/p>\n\n
