Through their obser\u00adva\u00adtions, they make an impor\u00adtant con\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adtion to doc\u00adu\u00adment\u00ading the flo\u00adra of Graub\u00fcn\u00adden. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In our por\u00adtrait series, we intro\u00adduce the peo\u00adple behind Flo\u00adra Raet\u00adi\u00adca.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today: Urban Angehrn, a mem\u00adber of the board of direc\u00adtors from Greifensee. He has been involved in the project since spring 2022. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pho\u00adto: Urban Angehrn (self\u00adie)<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Urban, what do you love about plants?<br><\/strong>The diver\u00adsi\u00adty and the beau\u00adty.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How did you get into botany?<br><\/strong>As a stu\u00addent, I knew a thing or two about plants. My moth\u00ader was a farmer and taught us kids the names of many plants. Dur\u00ading a sab\u00adbat\u00adi\u00adcal between two jobs in 2005, I bought my first dig\u00adi\u00adtal cam\u00adera and the first edi\u00adtion of \u201cFlo\u00adra Hel\u00adveti\u00adca,\u201d part\u00adly thanks to my wife\u2019s encour\u00adage\u00adment. Botany has been my hob\u00adby ever since.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Do you have a favorite plant that grows in Graub\u00fcn\u00adden? Why that one in par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlar?<br><\/strong><em>Cor\u00adtusa matthi\u00adoli<\/em>, the bell\u00adflower. I first saw it in Val Sines\u00adtra in 2009. It\u2019s a fas\u00adci\u00adnat\u00ading\u00adly beau\u00adti\u00adful plant that grows only hid\u00adden in the shade.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Which plant did you only come to appre\u00adci\u00adate at sec\u00adond glance?<br><\/strong>Espe\u00adcial\u00adly the species in the genus <em>Carex<\/em> (sedges).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Why are you involved with Flo\u00adra Raet\u00adi\u00adca?<br><\/strong>Flo\u00adra Raet\u00adi\u00adca is the ide\u00adal project for me: I\u2019ve been com\u00ading to Graub\u00fcn\u00adden on vaca\u00adtion for over 50 years. I\u2019ve been lead\u00ading botan\u00adi\u00adcal field trips here for over 20 years. And I\u2019ve had a sec\u00adond home in Klosters for 10 years. The project is well orga\u00adnized, and on our group field trips, we enjoy great cama\u00adraderie and many keen eyes.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What is your con\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adtion to Flo\u00adra Raet\u00adi\u00adca?<br><\/strong>Every year, I pro\u00advide the project with sev\u00ader\u00adal hun\u00addred sight\u00ading reports and, when\u00adev\u00ader pos\u00adsi\u00adble, doc\u00adu\u00adment them with good pho\u00adtos that Flo\u00adra Raet\u00adi\u00adca can also use if need\u00aded. Togeth\u00ader with the project coor\u00addi\u00adna\u00adtor, I man\u00adage the Insta\u00adgram account @floraraetica. And I also enjoy going on field missions\u2014sometimes even with suc\u00adcess!  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Was there a dis\u00adcov\u00adery or moment out\u00addoors that you\u2019ll nev\u00ader for\u00adget?<br><\/strong>I knew that the lake quill\u00adwort ( <em>Isoetes lacus\u00adtris<\/em> ) grows in Laghet\u00adto Moeso\u00adla on the San Bernardi\u00adno Pass. On my first vis\u00adit, I actu\u00adal\u00adly spot\u00adted some of these prim\u00adi\u00adtive lit\u00adtle plants right away\u2014they had washed up on the shore\u2014an unfor\u00adget\u00adtable moment. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Do you have a per\u00adson\u00adal nature tip relat\u00aded to botany for Graub\u00fcn\u00adden?<br><\/strong>Don\u2019t just vis\u00adit the botan\u00adi\u00adcal \u201chot spots\u201d like the Low\u00ader Enga\u00addine or Davos.
