<\/strong>In the past, the focus was main\u00adly on the phys\u00adi\u00adcal challenge\u2014running and climb\u00ading. I still enjoy that, but now I\u2019m increas\u00ading\u00adly dis\u00adcov\u00ader\u00ading the var\u00adi\u00adous aspects of nature as well. For exam\u00adple, I won\u00adder how geol\u00ado\u00adgy and plants are con\u00adnect\u00aded, what that spe\u00adcif\u00adic grass in the mead\u00adow tells us, or why that par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlar species is more com\u00admon this year than last. That\u2019s why I\u2019ve tak\u00aden a few botany cours\u00ades late\u00adly. Oth\u00ader\u00adwise, you tend to just look at the obvi\u00adous and famil\u00adiar things, even though there are so many fas\u00adci\u00adnat\u00ading plants out there. <\/p>\n\n
<\/strong>It\u2019s hard for me to name just one. I\u2019m always espe\u00adcial\u00adly hap\u00adpy to see sax\u00adifrage (Sax\u00adifra\u00adga<\/em>), but\u00adter\u00adworts (Pin\u00adguic\u00adu\u00adla<\/em>), and ferns\u2014especially moon\u00adworts (Botrychi\u00adum<\/em>). <\/p>\n\n
<\/strong>May is one of the best times for explor\u00ading the out\u00addoors: every\u00adthing is still very fresh, and there\u2019s already plen\u00adty to see. But some plants can be observed all year round\u2014for exam\u00adple, the spot\u00adted fern. And when the weath\u00ader gets real\u00adly unpleas\u00adant, read\u00ading books about botany is all the more enjoy\u00adable. <\/p>\n\n
<\/strong>I\u2019ve only been involved since March, and my knowl\u00adedge of botany is still grow\u00ading. That\u2019s why I\u2019m grate\u00adful for any cor\u00adrec\u00adtions, tips, and oth\u00ader feed\u00adback regard\u00ading the project. For\u00adtu\u00adnate\u00adly, plant obser\u00adva\u00adtions report\u00aded ear\u00adli\u00ader can also be retroac\u00adtive\u00adly assigned to the Flo\u00adra Raet\u00adi\u00adca project start\u00ading in 2021, which allowed me to con\u00adtribute right away. As a book lover, I\u2019d also be very hap\u00adpy to con\u00adtribute some\u00adthing to the pub\u00adli\u00adca\u00adtion mark\u00ading the 100th anniver\u00adsary in 2032. <\/p>\n\n
<\/strong>I espe\u00adcial\u00adly enjoy the live\u00adly con\u00adver\u00adsa\u00adtion on the Sig\u00adnal chat. It\u2019s always nice to see the dis\u00adcov\u00ader\u00adies and feel how excit\u00aded the par\u00adtic\u00adi\u00adpants are. <\/p>\n\n
<\/strong>Of course, I\u2019m hap\u00adpy when I dis\u00adcov\u00ader a rare species or can con\u00adfirm the pres\u00adence of a species, but the over\u00adall expe\u00adri\u00adence is actu\u00adal\u00adly even more impor\u00adtant to me. In June, for exam\u00adple, I spent two days in the Low\u00ader Enga\u00addine. Plants, moun\u00adtains, spend\u00ading the night in a moun\u00adtain hut\u2014that\u2019s pure lux\u00adu\u00adry! <\/p>\n\n
