Course Descrip­tion: This work­shop takes a clos­er look at var­i­ous wild ros­es.

Morn­ing: The­o­ry and prac­tice in the class­room
Brief intro­duc­tion to iden­ti­fy­ing wild ros­es. Iden­ti­fi­ca­tion of var­i­ous Rosa species* through a scav­enger hunt in small groups using iden­ti­fi­ca­tion keys. After the iden­ti­fi­ca­tion exer­cise in small groups, com­par­i­son of results and dis­cus­sion of find­ings and chal­lenges.

Lunch: varies depend­ing on the weath­er (pic­nic in or near the class­room)

After­noon: Field trip (Scuol area)
Iden­ti­fy­ing the ros­es we encounter along our route. Apply­ing the iden­ti­fi­ca­tion skills learned that morn­ing out in the field, and shar­ing insights and dis­cussing the iden­ti­fi­ca­tions.

*Spec­i­mens from the Engadin will be on dis­play. All par­tic­i­pants are invit­ed to bring their own wild ros­es that they have col­lect­ed.
